Shane was chosen as one of two Hawaii artists for the annual Solo Exhibition at the Hui Noʻeau here on Maui. He represented the “emerging artist” category and was honored to join established Oahu artist, Jodi Endicott, who showed her installation, The Market. Shane created a scale model of the room that houses his exhibit. One of the striking features is a series of windows that let in amazing light. Typically they are covered with a false wall, to make more hanging space available. To preserve the natural light, Shane built a series of portable stands that create extra hang space, take advantage of the light, and draw people into the room that is on the far side of the gallery. His love of being hands-on for the entire process was both tested and rewarded!
